The news: True, false, or fake

Dan Harder

  Dan Harder

Looking at how journalism has changed in the last 20 years, we will examine what's good about these changes - and what's not so good about them. With more sources feeding us more information than ever before, shouldn't we know more than ever before? And if, indeed, we do know more, why, then, is it so hard for us to agree on the truth?

With a mixture of humor, engaging discussion, and personal insights from years of writing for the L. A. Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and NPR, Pulitzer nominated writer, Dan Harder, will explore the various ways the news and our views are shaped by what we look at, where, and when. Yes, it's political, but it's bigger - and much more interesting - than just that.

Join Dan in a discussion of the past, present, and future of journalism and what we might do to improve our ability to distinguish a fact from a fake.
