Anara Guard
Anara Guard is an author and editor. With her partner, she runs New Wind Publishing in Sacramento. This small independent press has issued a 10-book series of realistic teen fiction (with book 11 due out later this year), as well as other titles.
Anara's two collections of short stories are The Sound of One Body and Remedies for Hunger. She has been a participant in fiction workshops at both Breadloaf Writers Conference and
Community of Writers at Squaw Valley. Her poetry has been published in numerous
publications, and has earned her the John Crowe Ransom Poetry Prize from Kenyon
College and, more recently, third place in the Jack Kerouac Poetry Competition in Davis.
